Description: Don't miss one of the holiday season's most inspiring events. Each year the Festival of Lights brings the true spirit of the season to young and old alike. The event begins as groups of carolers sing their way through the streets of downtown Frederick. The carolers meet at City Hall for a short program, which includes additional carols, greetings from local dignitaries, and an inspirational message. The highlight of the evening comes at the program's end, when the lights outside City Hall are dimmed, and candles are passed from neighbor to neighbor, filling the courtyard with light, as the audience sings "Silent Night". This event truly captures the meaning of the holiday season.

Description: One of the joyous traditions of the Christmas season is getting together with friends and family and singing all the favorite Christmas carols. Saturday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 to 9 pm, The Sing-Along Celebration is presenting its Christmas Sing-Along at the Unity Church in Frederick.
The Sing-Along Celebration is a new enterprise that has the goal of providing people a new opportunity to get together and sing all their favorite songs. They are kicking off their new business with a Christmas sing-along Dec 20th at The Unity Church in Frederick. After the first of the year, they will be doing popular music, folk, country and rock and roll music.

Having performed and sung at venues from the Kennedy Center and the Birchmere to the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Elise understands the joy of singing. She says of these sing-alongs: "We want people to bring their enthusiasm, that's the only requirement. Singing together is one of life's great joys. It is a thrill to raise your voice in a group of voices and sing music you love. That's the experience we're creating here."
