Participants must attend all three sessions to receive a Certificate
Respite Connection of Washington County is offering a free training program for adults interested in learning how to provide respite care - babysitting - for children who have disabilities and/or mental health issues. Trained respite care providers can earn $2-3 more per hour than the typical babysitter ($8 to $15 per hour). Respite care is temporary care in the child's home that allows the family to take a break. (must have 10 pre-registered or class is subject to cancellation)

THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CARE PROVIDER · POSITIONING
OVERVIEW OF COMMON DISABILITIES · ASSISTIVE EQUIPMENT
HOW TO SPEND TIME WITH THE CHILD · AND MORE!

Build a Photography Portfolio
Learn the principles and procedures needed to create an effective and targeted photographic portfolio. Review print selection and the presentation process of building a bound portfolio. Gain knowledge of effective self-critique techniques, as well as basic marketing principles to effectively present a relevant portfolio to an audience or customer. This class will benefit photographers with an interest in presenting a body of work to publishers, potential employers, galleries, customers, or learning institutions. Students will create a 10-25 piece portfolio, in a manner best suited for the targeted audience. The instructor and student will meet individually for a constructive critique of the photos selected for portfolio presentation. Students will present at the end of class. Advanced presentations, such as web sites and published works will be discussed, but will not be the focus of the class.

Introduction to Ballroom Dancing
In this 8-week course you'll learn the Waltz, Fox Trot, Swing, Cha Cha, Rumba, and Tango while gaining an understanding of the history of these dances and the rhythms that inspired them. Benefit from body awareness, exercise for the mind and body, as well as having fun and learning a lifelong skill. Class fees include 8 sessions of group instruction and 2 regular Saturday evening dances.
