Strip Poetry: Create a Whimsical Work of Art
Don’t worry-it’s nothing you have to hide from the kids! Think of it as the place where art mixes with creative writing. Bring a poem you’ve written-or write one in class-that will become the basis for your work of art. (We'll also have books on hand to inspire you.) We'll print out your poem on fancy paper and then you’ll cut it and weave it with strips of ribbon, thread, fabric, or paper. Add beads, stones, charms-whatever appeals to you. We'll have boxes of whimsy to choose from. Frame it, mount it, or hang it. Take home a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!
