Description: Most Valuable Patrons (MVPs) who really can ‘save the day’ by helping to sponsor Walkersville High School’s much-needed transformation of 32 year-old Lion’s Stadium into a new, true ‘field of glory.’ Together-- one MVP at a time-- we can raise the $3.6 million needed to turn dreams into game-day reality.
Becoming a Walkersville MVP can be as fun and easy as joining friends and neighbors for games, food, and music designed for the whole family right before every home varsity football game. eBay for Fun and Profit
Have you perused the eBay website and wanted to bid on some nostalgic collectible? Have you wondered about selling some of your own items on eBay? This class shows you how to use the eBay website to buy and to sell and includes a brief history of eBay. It provides plenty of tips on appraising, pricing, searching, feedback, eBay fees, eBay chat, online payment, packing and shipping, regionalized auctions, eBay Stores, and more. In the first session, the class puts one or two items up for sale, and students track the results over the week. In the second session, students assess their success, and list an item of their own for sale. To get the most from the class—at home, before the first class—go to http://www.eBay.com and http://www.PayPal.com and register (for free) to become a member.

Using Powerful Language to Make Positive Things Happen
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” How many times have we heard this statement on a school playground, at a park, on the streets, or in our homes? The fact is, this statement is wrong. Words are powerful. In this session, we will explore the intentional and unintentional consequences of words. We'll see how words impact our lives, how great orators have used words to inspire and motivate, and how we can do the same. Facilitator Shuan Butcher is the Executive Director of the Frederick Arts Council and founder and president of Inspire to Serve, a training and consulting company. He has presented workshops across the country on such topics as leadership, diversity, teambuilding, strategic planning, and volunteerism. You'll leave this session a little smarter and a little more inspired to use your word-power for good. Course fee includes a book by Butcher, "Inspiration to Serve: 101 Quotes about Kindness, Caring, and Giving."
1.5 hrs., Fees: $19
