Description: To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Frederick’s famous Community Bridge, the local non-profit organization Shared Vision invites the public to a free multimedia presentation on the evening of Wednesday, October 29 at 7:00 PM at Frederick Community College’s JBK Theater.
Artist William Cochran will share the creation stories of Community Bridge and The Dreaming, the new glass sculpture completed last year in the first block of West Patrick Street. The Dreaming is filled with stories from Frederick’s long history as a center for craftsmanship and innovation. The event will be videotaped live and freely released on the World Wide Web as an economic and tourism stimulus for Frederick.
Mr. Sarno said, “If you have not heard William speak about Community Bridge or The Dreaming, you owe it to yourself to not miss this opportunity. We hope many people will forward this video on so others may find it as inspiring as we do.”
Attendees will be asked to sign a standard release form, since parts of the audience may be shown in the video. Individuals may also be asked to appear in video interviews following the presentation to talk about their experiences with the artworks.

Have you always wanted to write a children’s book? It may not be as easy as you think! We’ll try a few exercises to generate ideas, and we’ll talk about plotting your story, creating believable characters, choosing a point of view, showing, not telling, storyboarding, what children’s editors are looking for, and submitting your manuscripts for publication. If you have a picture book, chapter book, middle grade manuscript idea or work-in-progress, bring it along. If you don’t, that’s fine, too.
