Potomac Center Activities Building 1360 Marshall St. Hagerstown, MD 21740 240-313-3500 Saturday, November 08, 2008 (9:30am-3pm) Saturday, November 15, 2008 (9:30am-3pm) Saturday, November 22, 2008 (9:30am-3pm) Participants must attend all three sessions to receive a Certificate Respite Connection of Washington County is offering a free training program for adults interested in learning how to provide respite care - babysitting - for children who have disabilities and/or mental health issues. Trained respite care providers can earn $2-3 more per hour than the typical babysitter ($8 to $15 per hour). Respite care is temporary care in the child's home that allows the family to take a break. (must have 10 pre-registered or class is subject to cancellation) Training topics include: DISABILITY AWARENESS · SAFETY · BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CARE PROVIDER · POSITIONING OVERVIEW OF COMMON DISABILITIES · ASSISTIVE EQUIPMENT HOW TO SPEND TIME WITH THE CHILD · AND MORE!
