Well, I used Chem-Dry and believe it or not, it was an enjoyable experience!  The guy who came out was on time and very professional.  He took time to inspect the areas to be cleaned and even explained how some spots would be treated differently.  He was even honest enough to say that there was one stain that probably wouldn't come out.  Disappointed about that, but very happy that he said it ahead of time and not made a false promise that he couldn't keep.  Despite the name, there were no harsh chemicals involved.  Very little water and even some natural citrus oils were used.  Very quick drying time.  We're having a baby soon so he threw in a disinfecting treatment in the baby room free of charge!  He was easy to talk to and was educated (previously an engineer of some type I think).  If you need carpet cleaning, contact Home Depot or call him directly.
