| Community Discussion | | What got us into this mess! | The term "deregulation" (lack of oversight) seems to be what everyone is blaming for our financial meltdown today. Since it is such a BIG issue, the cause is probably due to more than just one event.....What do you think?
Latest Reply: Deregulation was not the problem....lack of "backbone" by many politicians was (and is) the problem. Many people from Alan Greenspan on down predicted the Fannie Mae - Freddie Mac problem, and no one had the "spine" to do anything about it. Owning a house is not a "Right", it is a "Privilege" that a person needs to earn. Political Correctness will be the undoing of America. | |
